(November 8, 2010) HIROSHIMA, Japan — Mazda's Hofu Plant in Yamaguchi has reached a cumulative production volume of nine million units. This milestone was achieved in the 28 years and two months since vehicle production commenced in September 1982.

The cumulative volume rose from eight to nine million units in just 29 months due to high volumes of the Mazda Axela (known as the Mazda3 overseas), which commenced production in November 2008.

(November 8, 2010) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler today issued its financial results for the third quarter 2010 and revised upwards its full year 2010 guidance based on continued operating performance improvements.

Chrysler reported operating profit of $239 million for the quarter ending Sept. 30. Net revenues increased to $11 billion in the third quarter, up 5.2 percent from the second quarter, and net loss was reduced to $84 million from $172 million in the second quarter.

(November 5, 2010) Mercedes-Benz has announced plans to recall 2,297 diesel-powered, model-year 2011 E-Class, GL, M-Class and R-Class vehicles for a problem that could lead to fuel leaks.

The issue concerns an improperly lubricated O-ring that could cause the fuel filter to leak and deposit diesel fuel on roads. As a result, road surfaces could become slippery, and this could cause a crash.
