Buick's phenomenal success continues in September

(October 2, 2010) DETROIT — Buick continued its 2010 success in September posting a 96 percent increase in retail sales compared to the same month a year ago. September marked 12 consecutive months of year-over-year retail sales increases for the brand.

Due to customer demand for the LaCrosse, Enclave and Regal total sales are up 58 percent for the calendar-year-to-date and 36 percent in September.

(October 1, 2010) Domestic automakers Ford and Chrysler showed big sales gains in September as the U.S. automotive market rebounded from an August slump.

Every car maker with the exception of Suzuki showed an increase, most in double digits, from September 2009.

BMW issues recall over braking problem

Tata launches first India crossover vehicle

(October 1, 2010) The Tata Aria, the first Indian crossover and Tata's most expensive model, will be launched on Oct. 11. It will be made available across all major cities and towns of the country.

First shown as a concept at the 75th Geneva Motor Show in 2005 and in the New Delhi Auto Expo 2006, the Aria was unveiled at the New Delhi Auto Expo in January 2010.

Chevy Camaro convertible premieres in Los Angeles

(Septembr 30, 2010) DETROIT — The 21st century rebirth of the Chevrolet Camaro opens a new chapter when the 2011 Camaro convertible premieres at the Los Angeles International Auto Show on Nov. 17.

The Camaro convertible will arrive in Chevrolet showrooms in February 2011. Starting price will be $30,000, including $850 destination.

2010 Paris Motor Show opens

(Septembr 30, 2010) The Paris Motor Show is promising more than 100 world premieres when the doors open at the Paris Expo site today for two days of press previews. The public show dates are Oct. 2-17.

The growth of the Paris show — at the last event, they tell us that 80 new cars were introduced — suggests that the world’s automakers are increasingly comfortable with the prospect of parading their debutantes down a runway in front of the fashionable French.

VW releases drawings of new sedan

(September 30, 2010) HERNDON, Va. —  Volkswagen of America, today released three new renderings of its New Midsize Sedan (NMS), which will be produced at the company's state-of-the-art assemblv plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The renderings focus on the new yet-to-be-named model's distinctive German design and progressive body styling.

Saab to buy engines from BMW for next-generation 9-3

(September 30, 2010) TROLLHATTAN, Sweden — Saab and BMW AG signed an agreement today for BMW to supply engines for Saab's next-generation 9-3, Automotive News has reported.

Under the agreement, BMW will supply Saab with a four-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine starting in 2012.
