Porsche to sell diesel-powered Cayenne in U.S.

(April 3, 2012) NEW YORK — Porsche has announced it will offer the Cayenne Diesel in the United States market for the first time beginning with the 2013 model year. The Cayenne Diesel is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine, delivering 240 horsepower and 406 lb. ft. of torque from as low as 1,750 rpm.

Chrysler shows 34 percent sales gain over March 2011

(April 3, 2012) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler Group today reported U.S. sales of 163,381 units, a 34 percent increase compared with sales in March 2011 (121,730 units), and the group’s best monthly sales in four years. The Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck, and Fiat brands each posted sales increases in March versus the same month a year ago.

Subaru Canada introduces new 500,000-km maintenance schedule

(April 3, 2012) MISSISSAUGA, ON — Subaru Canada, Inc. has announced the introduction of a brand new 500,000-kilometer (310,685 miles) maintenance schedule for Subaru owners. According to Subaru's Canadian sales data and R.L. Polk Canadian registration data, 95.4 percent of Subaru vehicles sold in Canada over the last 10 years are still on the road today.

New distributor announced for Fiat vehicles in Australia

(April 3, 2012) Beginning May 1 Chrysler Australia group will act as the distributor for Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Fiat Professional brands in Australia.

Under the new agreement, the current Fiat and Alfa Romeo dealer group, which numbers 17 passenger dealerships with 22 commercial vehicle outlets across the country, will report into the Melbourne-based Chrysler Australia group.

GM expects to sell 100,000 30 mpg vehicles in March

(April 2, 2012) DETROIT — Combined U.S. sales of the 12 General Motors vehicles that get an EPA estimated 30 mpg or better on the highway are expected to reach 100,000 units or more in March, the highest total in company history. GM will release its total March sales on April 3.

Government begins probes of Chevy Cruze, Jeep Wrangler for engine fires

(April 2, 2012) The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened two separate investigations into vehicles made by General Motors and Chrysler Group following reports of engine fires that engulfed the vehicles in flames.

NHTSA last week began probes of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze compact car and 2010 Jeep Wrangler SUVs. NHTSA received two complaints about the 2011 Cruze and eight reports about the 2010 Wrangler.
