Ford China passenger car sales more than double in January

(February 9, 2013) SHANGHAI, China — Ford China had its best-ever January, selling more than double the number of passenger cars it did in January 2012. Ford China sold 44,439 passenger cars — including imported vehicles — last month, a 135 percent increase year-over-year, and achieved combined passenger car and commercial vehicle sales of 61,475 wholesale vehicles, a 98 percent increase from January 2012.

Fastest-ever Ford Fiesta production begins in Germany

(February 8, 2013) UNITED KINGDOM — Ford has started production at its assembly plant in Cologne, Germany, of the new Ford Fiesta ST — the first production Fiesta to record a 0-62 mph acceleration time of under seven seconds.

Developed by Ford Team RS, the European arm of Ford Motor Company’s Global Performance Vehicle group, the new Fiesta ST for Europe is powered by a 1.6-liter EcoBoost gas engine to achieve 0-62 mph in 6.9 seconds and offer 180 horsepower. Top speed is 136.7 mph.

New Corvette Stingray convertible to debut in Geneva
