Ram truck and Warner Bros. team up for ‘Man of Steel’

(June 6, 2013) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - The Ram Truck brand and Warner Bros. have launched a new co-branded commercial for the Ram 1500 as part of a partnership promoting Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “Man of Steel,” the summer action adventure movie in theaters June 14.

The Chrysler Group provided vintage trucks and other vehicles to Warner Bros. for integration into key scenes in the movie.

Chrysler recalling 254,400 SUVs over restraint-system functions

(June 6, 2013) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler Group will recall approximately 254,400 SUVs in the U.S. to upgrade software that controls restraint-system function in certain types of accidents. The upgrade was deemed necessary after it was discovered that seatbelt pre-tensioners and side-curtain airbags may not function properly during slow-developing rollovers.

2014 Chevrolet SS performance sedan will start at $44,470

(June 5, 2013) DETROIT — The suggested retail price for the 2014 Chevrolet SS sports sedan is $44,470, including a $995 destination charge, Chevrolet announced today. The SS goes on sale in the fourth quarter of 2013.

The U.S.-exclusive SS — Chevrolet’s first rear-drive performance sedan since 1996 — comes well-equipped in only one model, with a power-operated sunroof ($900) and full-size spare tire ($500) as the only options.

Chrysler refuses to act on a recall requested by the government

(June 5, 2013) In a rare refusal to act on a recall requested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Chrysler is standing by the safety of the 2.7 million Jeep vehicles in question. After a lengthy probe into rear-end collisions in which at least 51 people died, NHTSA asked Chrysler Group to recall 2.7 million 1992-2004 Grand Cherokees and 2002-07 Libertys that the government says are at risk of a fuel tank fire.
