Jeep Cherokee gets a welcome mid-cycle refreshening for 2019

(October 20, 2018) Jeep has given its Cherokee a mid-cycle refreshing, and the result makes it a competitor in the compact SUV segment, especially for those who are looking for something they can take off-road from time to time.

Among styling updates new to the 2019 model are the front fascia and hood with LED headlamps, daytime running lamps and fog lamps, a handsfree power rear liftgate, dual panel sunroof, and a more refined interior that includes more cargo space than its predecessor.

Electrify America expanding EV charging network

(October 19, 2018) RESTON, Va. — Future Electrify America charging customers will benefit from agreements announced this week that will allow them to charge their electric vehicles at non-Electrify America charging stations.

The company has reached network interoperability agreements with EV Connect, Greenlots and SemaConnect. The deal will increase the range confidence of EV drivers, and will feature an interconnected network of approximately 12,500 chargers, located at shopping centers, gas stations, convenience stores, workplaces, and multi-family dwellings, as of June 30, 2019.

2019 Ram 1500 named Truck of Texas

(October 19, 2018) BEE CAVE, Texas — After two days of evaluations, journalist members of the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) selected the 2019 Ram 1500 as Truck of Texas.

The award was presented Oct. 16 at the culmination of the Texas Truck Rodeo, presented by the Steel Market Development Institute (SMDI), in which 69 journalists drove 57 vehicles and voted on winners across a range of consumer categories.

Ford raising number of GT supercars it will build to 1,350 up from 1,000

(October 19, 2018) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford is increasing Ford GT production to 1,350 vehicles after more than 6,500 applicants raced to sign up for the original 1,000 cars allotted in 2016 — even before the car recaptured LeMans glory later that year.

“The response to our Ford GT has been unprecedented, with initial demand outstripping supply by more than six-to-one,” said Hermann Salenbauch, Ford Performance director.

The fifth generation Ford Ranchero was built from 1972-1976, but the 1972 is a distinct — at least from the front — one-year model because the front of the 1973 was changed to meet federal crash-test standards. There were four engine choices including three V-8s in 1972. This "retired" copy was found in South Carolina.
