Nissan plant in Aguascalientes nears completion in record time

The project that has made the most progress so far is the new plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Chevrolet Malibu makes vehicle entry easier

(April 30, 2013) DETROIT — The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu sedan equipped with four-door passive entry makes life a little easier for those frantically searching for keys in the bottom of a deep purse or fumbling to find them when carrying a child or bags of groceries.

Chevrolet placed small buttons on all four doors allowing the driver to unlock the door with one press and all four doors and the trunk with two presses.

All-new 2014 Lexus IS sport sedan to start at $35,950

(April 30, 2013) TORRANCE, Calif. — Lexus on Monday announced the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices for the all-new 2014 IS sedan, which will arrive at dealerships this summer.
 
The IS 250, powered by a 2.5-liter V6 delivering 204 horsepower and 185 lb.-ft. of torque, will have a starting MSRP of $35,950 for RWD and $38,485 for AWD.  The IS 350, which produces 306 horsepower from its 3.5L V6 pow
er plant, will have a staring MSRP of $39,465 for RWD and $41,700 for AWD.  The base price for the 2014 IS 350 is 2.1% lower than the model it replaces.

Aston Martin completes first hydrogen-powered lap of Nürburgring

(April 30, 2013) Aston Martin has secured its place in the history books with a world first hydrogen-fueled zero CO2 emission lap of the Nürburgring circuit in Germany. The 13-mile lap was completed on April 27 with Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Dr Ulrich Bez at the wheel of the prototype Aston Martin Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S.

Recalls affect Honda, Nissan and Subaru vehicles

(April 29, 2013) Three recalls have been announced over past couple of days by Honda, Nissan and Subaru. Honda is recalling almost 46,000 Fit small cars in the United States and Canada to fix a problem with the electronic stability control system software. Nissan is recalling 123,308 Altima sedans in the United States to adjust the inflation of the spare tires, which could be over- or under-inflated. Subaru is recalling just over 10,000 of its 2014 Forester wagons because the floor mats can interfere with the clutch, brake or gas pedals.

Chrysler profit falls in first quarter 2013

(April 29, 2013) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler Group today reported its preliminary 2013 first-quarter results, including net income of $166 million on revenue of $15.4 billion.  As anticipated, the quarter was negatively affected by the reduced vehicle shipments that resulted from key product launches, namely the 2013 Ram Heavy Duty trucks and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, as well as preparation for the second-quarter production launch of the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee.
