Electrify America expanding EV charging network

(October 19, 2018) RESTON, Va. — Future Electrify America charging customers will benefit from agreements announced this week that will allow them to charge their electric vehicles at non-Electrify America charging stations.

The company has reached network interoperability agreements with EV Connect, Greenlots and SemaConnect. The deal will increase the range confidence of EV drivers, and will feature an interconnected network of approximately 12,500 chargers, located at shopping centers, gas stations, convenience stores, workplaces, and multi-family dwellings, as of June 30, 2019.

“EV customers are the big winners with these network interoperability agreements,” said Brendan, Jones, vice president and chief operating officer at Electrify America. “Drivers will now be able to roam between charging networks without the need for additional cards or accounts. It will be seamless for EV owners that you can charge when you need one – comparable to getting cash at an ATM machine even when it’s not your bank.”

"We could not be more impressed with Electrify America and their leadership position establishing true interoperability with charging networks. They are helping to build the future we imagined at SemaConnect, one that provides EV drivers with the most charging options," said Mahi Reddy, CEO of SemaConnect, Inc.

"Interoperability means EV Connect and Electrify America customers will gain access to thousands more EV charging stations nationwide,” said Jordan Ramer, founder and CEO of EV Connect. “We look forward to working with Electrify America to extend roaming, payment and driver capabilities to customers across the U.S."
