Harley-Davidson recalls surge, newspaper reports

(October 6, 2015) The Wall Street Journal reports this week that recalls of Harley-Davidson motorcycles have surged in the past two years, along with the cost of making repairs to the faulty bikes, potentially denting the company’s reputation.

U.S. government data compiled by The Wall Street Journal show recalls affecting about 210,000 Harley vehicles in 2014 and 312,000 so far in 2015. That compares with an average of 94,000 annually in the 10 years through 2013.
