2019 Corvette ZR1 sets lap record at VIR

(February 1, 2018) DETROIT — Chevrolet has announced that the 2019 Corvette ZR1 set a production-car lap record on the 4.1-mile Grand Course West at Virginia International Raceway with a time of 2:37.25. Along with a harness bar and track seats with five-point harnesses, the record-setting stock ZR1 coupe was equipped with the available paddle-shift eight-speed automatic and ZTK Performance Package.

Chevrolet introduced the rear-engine compact Corvair in 1960 to great fanfare. It took Chevy only one model year to add more utility to the Corvair lineup with panel and passenger vans. The  panel van was called the Corvan and the passenger model was named the Greenbrier. Both versions sold in good numbers. 2018 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid arrives in showrooms

Pricing begins at $53,095 including destination charge. Distinguishing the Sport Hybrid from the rest of the MDX lineup is the brand's signature three-motor Sport Hybrid Super Handling-All Wheel Drive system, which it shares with the 2018 NSX supercar and RLX Sport Hybrid.

Nissan Motor Acceptance announces financing from mobile device

(January 31, 2018) NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Consumers looking to purchase a Nissan can now access personalized retail and lease pre-approval offers through digital credit shopping on their smartphones. Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC) today announced it is joining the mobile-first AutoGravity automotive shopping and financing platform.

Through this collaboration, consumers will be able to select any Nissan vehicle and see finance offers from NMAC within minutes on their mobile device.

Winston Churchill's Daimler to be featured at London car show

(January 31, 2018) LONDON — It is not often that a car can claim to have shaped history but the historical importance of a distinguished Daimler appearing on The Grand Avenue at London Classic Car Show, Feb. 15-18, should not be underestimated. It is not only the sole surviving pre-war DB18 Drophead Coupe but, more significantly, also the very car used by Winston Churchill for his political campaigns between 1944 and 1949.

As he toured the country, Churchill would sit on the rear deck addressing packed crowds via a loud speaker system fitted on top of the car’s bonnet.

Lister to reveal its new Thunder sports car in February

(January 31, 2018) LONDON — British specialist sports car maker Lister will next month reveal the fastest, most powerful and luxurious car it has ever built in the legendary Cambridgeshire marque’s 65-year history, with the launch of the Lister Thunder. The Thunder will be unveiled at Historic Motorsport International, staged at London’s ExCeL, from Feb. 15-18, where full details of the new limited-production Lister supercar will be revealed.

Hyundai unveils first renderings of new Santa Fe crossover

(January 31, 2018) SEOUL — Hyundai has unveiled its first rendering of the upcoming all-new Santa Fe, showcasing "a luxurious and striking design based on its robust, stylish and voluminous composition, which reflects Hyundai’s new SUV design identity." The Santa Fe will be revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show March 8.

Alliance sells combined 10,608,366 vehicles in 2017

(January 30, 2018) Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, the world's leading automotive Alliance, today announced that its member companies sold a combined total of 10,608,366 units in the 12 months to Dec. 31.

Growing demand for SUVs, light commercial vehicles and a rising number of zero-emission pure electric vehicles helped lift unit sales by 6.5 percent in 2017, the first full-year of Mitsubishi Motors' membership of the Alliance.
