Ford strong out of the gate in China with January sales up 53 percent

(February 12, 2014) SHANGHAI — Ford China gallops into the Year of the Horse with record January sales, posting 53 percent growth and sales of 94,466 wholesale vehicles, compared to 61,567 in January 2013.

Ford China passenger car sales — which include imported cars — accounted for 72,598 vehicles, a year-on-year sales increase of 63 percent compared to 44,439 sold in January 2013.

Nissan Leaf best-selling electric car in Europe in 2013

BMW posts new sales record for January

(February 11, 2014) MUNICH — The BMW Group’s record-breaking sales growth of last year continued in January 2014 with deliveries increasing by 7.8%. In January, a total of 132,892 BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce brand vehicles were delivered to customers compared to123,302 last year.

“This is a positive start, building on last year’s success,” said Ian Robertson, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, Sales and Marketing BMW.

Ford's UK sales boost European commercial vehicle share to six-year high

(February 10, 2014) BRENTWOOD, Essex, UK — Ford’s increased commercial vehicle sales in 2013 drove the company to its highest market share since 2007. The UK accounted for more than 38 per cent of Ford’s European CV sales in 2013.

Ford recorded a UK market share of 20.9 per cent, selling 72,238 commercial vehicles in 2013 (5,781 more than the previous year). The company’s European market share increased to 9.2 per cent from 8.5 per cent the prior year, the biggest share increase of any automaker in Europe.

Toyota begins exporting U.S.-built Highlanders to Australia, New Zealand

(February 10, 2014) CHICAGO — Toyota has begun to export U.S.-assembled Highlander SUVs to Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Highlander exports are initially forecasted at approximately 29,000 units annually. The announcement was made by Toyota Senior Vice President Bob Carter at the Chicago Auto Show.
