Audi has best year ever with 1,092,400 sales worldwide

(January 12, 2011) Audi sold around 1,092,400 cars in 2010, recording its best ever year in terms of sales. In China, Audi sold a record 227,938 units; in the United States, the brand achieved sales surpassing the 100,000 mark for the first time.

Hyundai shows off 2012 Veloster, a three-door coupe

GM, NBC Universal create partnership for coverage of 2012 Olympics

Ford says it will add 7,000 workers during 2011-2012

(January 11, 2011) DETROIT — Ford Motor Company today announced it will add 7,000 new hourly and salaried jobs between this year and next in the United States.  
 
This year alone, Ford is adding nearly 4,000 hourly jobs at several of its U.S. plants, including 1,800 at Louisville Assembly Plant, which is preparing to launch the next-generation Ford Escape late in the year.

(January 10, 2011) DETROIT — The Chevrolet Volt sedan and Ford Explorer crossover were named 2011 North American car and truck of the year today by a panel of automotive journalists.

The Volt, Nissan Leaf and Hyundai Sonata were finalists for 2011 North American Car of the Year, while the Explorer, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Dodge Durango were Truck of the Year finalists.

New mid-sized Volkswagen unveiled in Detroit

(January 10, 2011) DETROIT — Volkswagen unveiled the midsize sedan here Sunday night that it hopes will make it a mainstream American brand and help it become the world's largest automaker.

Called simply the Passat — the same name as the smaller midsize sedan VW has struggled to sell in America — the new car will roll out of a $1billion assembly plant in Chattanooga, Tenn. Sales are to begin in September.
