Chevrolet truck yard art



This 1941 Chevrolet truck looks quite classy as yard art near Portland, Ore. This style truck — nicknamed "Art Deco" — entered the marketplace as a '41 model and was built until the start of World War II in December 1941, and then resumed production without changes for 1946. Chevrolet introduced an all-new design for the 1947 model year.

Volvo Cars Tech Fund invests in battery technology pioneer StoreDot



(April 21, 2022) Volvo Cars has made an investment in StoreDot, an Israeli company developing extreme-fast charging battery technology for electric cars, through the Volvo Cars Tech Fund, its venture capital arm. StoreDot is working on a pioneering technology that, according to the company, should result in batteries that can charge to 100 miles of pure electric range in just five minutes. The investment gives Volvo Cars the opportunity to collaborate closely with StoreDot on exciting new battery technology, as it aims to become a pure electric car company by 2030.

Toyota invests $383 million in production at four U.S. plants



(April 20, 2022) PLANO, Texas — Advancing the company’s commitment to vehicle electrification, Toyota will invest $383 million in four of its U.S. manufacturing plants that build the heart of new Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The new investment supports the production of four-cylinder engines, including options for hybrid electric vehicles, at its Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee plants.
