2023 BMW iX M60 — The best of three worlds: i, X, and M



(January 6, 2022) BMW HS announced its first high-performance SAV designed for purely electric mobility. The even more powerful variant of its technology flagship: the 2023 BMW iX M60.  With a total system output of up to 610 bhp and 811 lb-ft of torque (when Launch Control is activated), and a unique M-enhanced adaptive dual-axle air suspension, it adds an outstanding performance experience to the world of emission-free driving.

Decaying 1956 Lincoln



Lincoln almost doubled its sales from 1955 to 1956 with the release of its redesigned sedan, coupe and convertible. For us it is one of the best designs to come out of the 1950s. Sales nearly doubled to 50,322, but still trailed Cadillac by nearly 100,000 units. This 1956 relic was found in an Arizona salvage yard.

Volvo, Qualcomm deliver elevated infotainment system performance



(January 5, 2022) Volvo Car Group is using Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms to take the car maker’s Google Android Automotive-based infotainment system in upcoming fully electric cars under the Volvo and Polestar brands to the next level. By leveraging Volvo Cars’ and technology firm Qualcomm’s in-house research and development competence, the companies will improve the overall capability of Volvo’s next-generation infotainment system powered by Google Android, making it much faster and more responsive.

Hyundai unveils innovative plug and drive robotic module



(January 5, 2022) LAS VEGAS — Hyundai Motor Company has revealed its Plug & Drive (PnD) modular platform that enables mobility of traditionally inanimate things, from small objects to large community spaces, at CES 2022. At the event, the leaders of Hyundai and Boston Dynamics presented a shared vision for robotics in both the real world and metaverse under the main theme of "Expanding Human Reach."

Ford says it will double production capacity of F-150 Lightning EV



(January 4, 2022) DETROIT — Ford said it will have the ability to build up to 150,000 electric F-150s a year by mid-2023, nearly quadruple the capacity it had originally planned, as it scrambles to meet consumer demand even before shipping the first trucks to dealerships, the Automotive News reported today. The news comes a day before rival General Motors is set to unveil the Chevrolet Silverado EV, which will directly compete with the F-150 Lightning when it goes on sale in early 2023.

Tesla posts record 308,600 global vehicle deliveries in fourth quarter



(January 4, 2022) Tesla  delivered 308,600 vehicles worldwide in the fourth quarter, smashing the previous record for the EV maker and punctuating a year in which the company joined the exclusive $1 trillion market valuation club. The better-than-expected results posted Sunday pushed Tesla’s total sales for the year to more than 936,000, up about 87 percent over 2020’s deliveries of just under half a million vehicles.
