Pope Francis Center First Edition custom Bronco to be auctioned for charity



(January 26, 2022) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford and the Pope Francis Center in Detroit will auction a unique Bronco paying homage to the original 1966 Ford Bronco at the annual Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Thursday. Proceeds from the sale of the 2021 Bronco Pope Francis Center First Edition custom build will support the Pope Francis Center and its fight against chronic homelessness.

The center, which has been serving Detroit’s most vulnerable citizens for more than three decades, is committed to eradicating chronic homelessness in Detroit by 2030.

GM investing nearly $154 million in western N.Y. for electric motor components



(January 24, 2022) LOCKPORT, N.Y. — General Motors has announced plans to invest nearly $154 million in its western New York Lockport Components plant. The investment will be used to renovate the facility and purchase and install new machinery and equipment used in the production of the stator module, a key component in an electric motor. Electric motors will be used in a variety of GM’s future Ultium Platform-based electric trucks and SUVs. Facility renovations will begin immediately.
