Hyundai recalls 42,925 sedans for faulty brake lights

(December 10, 2014) Hyundai is recalling 42,925 sedans in the U.S. due to potentially faulty brake lights, according to documents filed with U.S. safety regulators. The recall involves certain 2009-11 Genesis and 2011 Equus sedans because a circuit failure may lead to the brake lights not illuminating, according to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Harley-Davidson electric motorcycle concept to be displayed in Canada

(December 10, 2014) CONCORD, Ontario — Innovation, meet heritage. Harley-Davidson Motor Company recently revealed Project Livewire concept — the first Harley-Davidson electric motorcycle. And the Harley-Davidson Project Livewire Experience will be coming to the Powersport Services (PSS) motorcycle shows across Canada this winter.

The static display will be located separately from the corporate Harley-Davidson booth in a prime location and will include one Livewire unit on a JUMPSTART demo, a second display unit on a stand, as well as a PDC design video on a large-screen TV.

Ford has three of six finalists for North American car/truck awards

(December 10, 2014) DETROIT — The three finalists for the 2015 North American Car of the Year are the Ford Mustang, Hyundai Genesis and the Volkswagen Golf, TDI and GTI. The three finalists for the 2015 North American Truck/Utility of the Year are the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Colorado and the Lincoln MKC.

The names were disclosed Tuesday at news conference in Detroit when Denny Moyer, a partner at Deloitte & Touche, handed over the names to Mark Phelan, the automotive critic for the Detroit Free Press and a member of the NACTOY jury.

2015 Mustang convertibles begin shipping to dealers

GM Foundation contributes $2.87 million to higher education

(December 9, 2014) DETROIT — The General Motors Foundation today announced grants totaling $2.875 million to support 29 universities and organizations across the country in 2014 through its University/Organization Partner Program.

The initiative provides funding to advance secondary education curricula in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, also known as STEM, information technology and other fields important to the automotive industry.
