Nissan Middle East sets Guinness record for longest twin vehicle drifting

(December 17, 2014) DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Nissan Middle East has set a new Guinness World Records title for the longest twin vehicle drifting. Two Nissan Z cars drifted around a track at the same time without stopping for 28.52 kilometers (17.67 miles).

The record was set in the second attempt during the launch of the "Nissan 370Z Drift Experience" which will offer anyone the opportunity to learn and perfect the art of drifting.

Chrysler name is out — It's now FCA US LLC

(December 17, 2014) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler Group LLC, the Auburn Hills, Michigan-based automaker, today announced that it has changed its company name to FCA US LLC. The name change is effective immediately and follows the naming convention of its global parent company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (FCA), which officially adopted its new name in October when it listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

The name change to FCA US LLC does not affect the company’s headquarters location in Auburn Hills, its holdings, management team, board or brands.

Fiat Chrysler sales up 3.6 percent in Europe for November

(December 16, 2014) LONDON — Fiat Chrysler Automobiles posted November sales up 3.6% year-over-year versus 1.2% for the industry. Jeep brand posted an all-time monthly record for European sales, driven by a 110.6% year-over-year increase. The Fiat 500 and Panda remained the two top selling vehicles in the A segment (accounting for a combined 28.4% share) and the 500L led the Small MPV segment for the 11 months to November with a 22.1% share.

Volkswagen group tops 9 million sales through November

(December 15, 2014) WOLFSBURG, Germany — The Volkswagen Group delivered over nine million vehicles worldwide from January to November for the first time ever.

The company delivered 834,800 vehicles in November, up seven-tenths of a point. “Deliveries by the Volkswagen Group remain on track during the last few weeks of the year. The 10 million mark is within reach in spite of all the uncertainties in the global automotive sector,” Group Board Member for Sales Christian Klingler said in Wolfsburg last week.

2015 Hyundai Azera receives design enhancements, standard safety features

Honda releases guide to help auto dealers reduce energy consumption

The company is encouraging auto dealers — across all brands — to download the Guide and reduce their environmental footprint.

Chrysler expanding airbag recalls
