Genesis Electrified G80 — An electric drivetrain for a popular sedan

By David Boldt
MyCarData

(September 18, 2022) It is, parked on my driveway, utterly conventional in its appearance. And to be sure, in the (relatively) short time in which we’ve watched Tesla and its four models occupy our highways and byways they, too, have become utterly conventional, but in a way that makes them of this century and not – notably – the last century.

Kia Forte GT kicks it German-style — with value

By Casey Williams
MyCarData

(September 4, 2022) If you take a look at the Kia Forte GT and think it could just have easily been a Volkswagen or   vAudi, your mind isn’t cloudy.  A good portion of Kia’s design team and engineering gnomes come from The Fatherland.  And, that rapid insolence carries over on the road where the car kicks it like it’s swallowing Autobahn — wherever your version of the famed motorway leads.  Beyond all of that, it spoils passengers rotten and presents a window sticker that reflects Kia’s reputation for value.

(August 17, 2022) Seemingly with all the talk these days about all-electric cars dominating the new car automotive spotlight it isn’t surprising that Mercedes could launch one of the most important and best-selling cars in in the German automakers lineup and it seems no one knows about it.

Subaru BRZ — Driving enjoyment on a budget

By Jim Meachen

(August 14, 2022) Driving the 2022 Subaru BRZ took me back to a time long, long ago when I coveted an affordable new sports car, and the 1975 Datsun 280Z fit my budget and my need for a moderately priced cutting-edge machine. The 2022 Subaru BRZ is much like the '75 280Z in as much as both are — and were — desirable and affordable for those of us with a limited amount of money to realize our motoring dreams.

Nissan Pathfinder Platinum — Nothing short of outstanding View

By Jim Prueter

(July 27, 2022) With a dated lineup of utility vehicles that are well past their freshness date, Nissan has been rejuvenating its SUVs and the Pathfinder is the latest to receive a comprehensive and complete redesign for the 2022 model year. The previous Pathfinder was well out of its league and at the bottom of the segment against exceptionally good competitors like the Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade and Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Acura Integra A-Spec — Counter revolution

By David Boldt
MyCarData

(July 26, 2022) If born before 1996 you’ll have little memory of Acura’s beginnings. Honda was the first of Japan’s ‘Big Three’ to move upscale with a luxury division, launching Acura in 1986 as a competitor to the near-luxury models of BMW, Mercedes and Audi. And while it hit the showroom with just two models — a 4-door luxury sedan dubbed Legend and a 2-door Civic-based hatch it called Integra — the Honda offshoot hit those new showrooms running.

(July 24, 2022) The smallest of Honda’s utility vehicle offerings, the HR-V subcompact crossover, has been given a complete redo as its second-generation is launched for 2023. The outgoing first generation was popular finding homes for more than 700,000 units in the U.S. during its 2016 debut to 2022 run.
