(July 23, 2022) After being fully redesigned a few years back, the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox gets a mid-cycle refreshing this year that includes new headlights, a new grille, updated bumpers and the addition of a new RS model that has some distinctive style features of its own.

Lexus LX 600 — Cruising on and off road in style

(July 24, 2022) The all-new 2022 Lexus  LX 600 enters the marketplace as a big and luxurious three-row vehicle for those who value a soft ride, ultra-quiet interior, most of the safety and convenience technology available — and the ability to go far off road. It's the king of the SUVs in the Toyota/Lexus stable replacing the long-running LX 570 and helps fill the void created by the departure of the Toyota Land Cruiser from the North American market.

Mazda CX-9 — Luxury in a three-row package

(July 17, 2022) Although the current-generation three-row Mazda CX-9 was introduced way back in 2016, it continues to be one of the most alluring mid-sized crossover SUVs on the market. One of the reasons we came away feeling good about the stylish people hauler after a week behind the wheel was due to the fact we were driving the near-luxury Signature trim.

(July 10, 2022) With Nissan apparently planning to exit the full-size U.S. pickup truck market after two decades of attempting to crack the code of the Big Three manufacturers, Toyota is betting with an all-new full-sized Tundra pickup that it has the stuff to gain market share.

(July 3, 2022) Mazda offers choices. Good choices, because Mazda builds excellent SUV crossovers. This gives customers the option of better fitting their needs and pocketbook when shopping Mazda. For instance, in 2020 Mazda introduced the subcompact CX-30 in direct competition to the popular CX-3. Now there's yet another choice for the Mazda faithful or for prospective Mazda buyers — the new compact CX-50 or the similarly sized highly rated CX-5.

Toyota Sienna — It's all about the gas milage

(June 26, 2022) When we first drove the newest generation Toyota Sienna minivan about 14 months ago we were impressed by a number of things Toyota had done to improve styling and update the vehicle with scads of storage, a user-friendly interface, and a large helping of new technology. We also praised its extraordinary gas mileage. We recently drove another Sienna, a 2022 Platinum Hybrid, this spring on a 350-mile round trip to our favorite beach and we have elevated the Sienna's exceptional gas mileage to the top of our list for reasons to purchase.

Ford Mustang EcoBoost High Performance — A rewarding experience

(June 22, 2022) A quick Mustang history lesson — The 2002 Ford Mustang V-8 came with 260 horsepower and 302 pound-feet of torque and could complete a 0-to-60 run in about 5.5 seconds. We bring these statistics up should you scoff two decades later at the 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder (called EcoBoost in Ford parlance) in the 2022 Mustang 2.3. A four cylinder in the newest version of Ford's muscle car? Hey, the EcoBoost 4 has a lot of muscle at its disposal, enough to leave the two-decade-old Mustang 5.0 in the dust.

Volvo C40 Recharge — Recharging for a price

By David Boldt

(June 21, 2022) I’m at Trader Joe’s, parked next to a Volvo V70 wagon — and across from an older Tesla Model S. As the Tesla’s owner gets into his EV, he’s taking a long look at our C40 Recharge EV, Volvo’s first all-electric platform. And he takes another look, perhaps thinking it’s time to move on from his Tesla, perhaps thinking it’s time to move on from Tesla. And while Volvo’s all-new C40 Recharge isn’t intended as a replacement for the Model S, it can certainly be considered an alternative to Tesla’s Model 3 or Model Y crossover.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT 4WD — Now the best Silverado ever

(June 14, 2022) I grew up in mid-east Michigan on a farm about 125 miles straight north of Detroit. Most families like mine were farmers or blue collar with most employment dominated by large auto factories and foundries, almost exclusively General Motors, surrounded on the outskirts by fertile farmland that mainly grew wheat, navy beans, alfalfa and sugar beets. In that part of the state pickup trucks were a hard-working tool and as much an elemental part of the landscape as grain trucks, tractors and combines.

(June 19, 2022) If you can't afford a BMW 3-Series, but want the ultimate driving machine experience, we have the answer for you. The 2022 Hyundai Elantra N offers BMW-like performance and handling at a smaller price starting under $34,000. And unlike the BMW, it comes with a 10-year, 100,000-mile drivetrain warranty. Is this a great country or what?
