GM's Chinese-only Baojun 630 begins national launch tour

(August 10, 2011) SHANGHAI — The Baojun 630, the first model from SAIC-GM-Wuling’s (SGMW’s) new Baojun passenger car brand, began its national launch tour today in Chengdu.

Baojun is one of four brands being offered by GM’s joint venture partnerships with SAIC in China, joining Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac.

GM introduces China-only entry-level sedan

(August 9, 2011) SHANGHAI  — General Motors has introduced its first sedan under a new China-only brand to cater to entry-level buyers in the world's largest auto market. The four-door 1.5-liter Baojun 630 sedan starts at 62,800 yuan ($9,750), according to the company.

The car will be available in three variants and sold to 120 dealers in eight cities, including Zhengzhou, Nanning, Changsha and Harbin.

Ford F-150 V-6 EcoBoost outselling all competitors' V-6 trucks combined

(August 9, 2011) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford's 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine, the 365-horsepower Ford F-150 EcoBoost, is outselling all other competitive six-cylinder trucks combined according to July sales statistics.

The new EcoBoost V6 is one of four new more fuel-efficient engines Ford introduced in the F-150 for 2011. Another of those new engines — a 3.7-liter, 302-horsepower V-6 — also outsells all other competitive V6 engines in full-sized trucks from Chevrolet, GMC, Dodge and Toyota.
