Toyota and Tesla to build RAV4 electric vehicle in Canada

Alabama plant sees 1 millionth Sonata roll out the door

(August 5, 2011) MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) marked its 1,000,000th Alabama-built Sonata — a 2012 limited edition 2.0 turbo with a radiant silver paint finish — last week.

Team members at the Montgomery assembly plant cheered as President and CEO Young Deuk Lim drove the Sonata off the quality inspection line with Vice President Production Ashley Frye and Robert Coleman, HMMA’s team member of the year in the passenger seats.

GM passes Toyota as world's largest automaker

Ford grows market share in the UK

(August 5, 2011) BRENTWOOD, Essex — Ford increased July UK market share in each sector in which it competes – cars, light commercials (LCVs) and medium commercials (MCVs) – compared with July 2010.  Ford's total vehicle share for the month, 15.5 per cent, and for the year to date, 15.4 per cent, were both up compared with the same periods in 2010.

Honda recalls 1.5 million vehicles over transmission problem

(August 5, 2011) TORRANCE, Calif. — Honda will voluntarily recall about 1.5 million vehicles in the U.S. to update the software that controls the automatic transmission.

Certain 2005-2010 4-cylinder Accord, 2007-2010 CR-V and 2005-2008 Element vehicles will be included in the voluntary recall.

Prices set for 2012 Buick Regal GS, Regal with eAssist

(August 5, 2011) DETROIT — Buick’s Regal offerings will double this fall, with the arrival of the new technologically advanced 2012 Regal with eAssist and the performance-oriented 2012 Regal GS, which are expected to broaden the appeal of the hot-selling midsize luxury sport sedan.

Regal with eAssist will start at $29,530, and Regal GS will start at $35,310; both prices include $860 in destination charges.

2000 Honda Civic most stolen car in New York

Chrysler recalling 2008 minivans over airbag concern
