GM confirms two new Cadillac sedans

(August 4, 2011) Two new Cadillac sedans will join the brand's lineup in 2012, the full-size XTS and the smaller ATS. The products were confirmed today by General Motors North America boss Mark Reuss at an auto-industry conference in Traverse City, Mich.

The new sedans will bracket the CTS sedan, coupe and wagon family, Reuss said at the Center for Automotive Research’s Management Briefing Seminars.

General Motors net income increases 89 percent from second quarter 2010

(August 4, 2011) DETROIT — General Motors today announced second quarter net income attributable to common stockholders of $2.5 billion, or $1.54 per fully-diluted share, marking the company’s sixth consecutive profitable quarter. In the second quarter — April through June — of 2010, GM’s net income attributable to common stockholders was $1.3 billion, or 85 cents per fully-diluted share.

Refreshed 2012 Infiniti FX35 will start at $43,500

(August 4, 2011) Infiniti has announced pricing for the refreshed 2012 Infiniti FX performance luxury crossover, which is scheduled to go on sale at Infiniti retailers nationwide beginning in early October.

The iconic FX design has an aggressive new front grille and fascia for 2012 — featuring a heavy influence from the Infiniti Essence Concept — as well as a new 20-inch wheel design and an updated instrument cluster.

Range Rover Evoque named Car of Year in Europe

(August 4, 2011) LONDON — European magazine Auto Express has named the best new models of the past 12 months at its annual New Car Awards — and the big winner was the Range Rover Evoque, which was crowned Auto Express Car of the Year 2011.

The ceremony celebrated the top buys in 18 classes of the new car market, as chosen by Auto Express’s expert panel.

Mitsubishi celebrates the number 7,942

(August 3, 2011) CYPRESS, Calif. (PRNewswire) — It's barely a blip on the automotive sales chart for July. But 7,942 is a big number for Mitsubishi. Big enough that some Mitsubishi officials may have been dancing in the streets.

That's the number of sales Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) reported for July.  The big deal is that 7,972 units represents a whopping increase of 41.1 percent compared to the same month in 2010.

Ford has best July since 1979 in Canada

(August 3, 2011) OAKVILLE, Ont. — Ford Motor Company of Canada saw overall sales increase 1 per cent compared to the same period last year marking the best July since 1979. Strong performances from Fiesta, Fusion and Taurus helped car sales increase 10 per cent in July.

Los Angeles Auto Show expects 50 vehicle debuts in November

Volvo builds narrow-track truck for congested London streets

(August 3, 2011) A new Volvo narrow-track 16-ton truck built specifically to operate within some of London’s most congested streets has joined the expanding Viridor fleet.

Working in conjunction with both Volvo Truck dealer M C Truck and Bus and Wilcox Commercial Vehicles Ltd, Viridor Regional Vehicle and Plant Engineer for the south east Paul Riley was able to design a bespoke vehicle ideally suited to the conditions encountered in the London's narrow streets and back alleys.

OnStar testing Family Link to follow vehicle's exact location
