Chances of hitting deer, elk or moose highest in West Virginia

(September 15, 2015) BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — U.S. drivers are just as likely to have a claim involving a collision with deer, elk or moose than they were last year, according to new claims data from State Farm. The odds drivers will have a claim from hitting one of those animals is 1 out of 169, the same as it was in 2014. That likelihood more than doubles during October, November and December, when deer collisions are most prevalent.

Volvo among the first to support new U.S. car safety

(September 13, 2015) ROCKLEIGH, N.J. — Volvo Cars will be one of 10 automakers voluntarily agreeing to make Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking standard on all vehicles within five years.

Volvo is proud to be among the first automakers to make such a commitment with both the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and commends them for their action. Volvo already has approximately 250,000 vehicles on U.S. roads with these technologies.

Dodge Magnum scores highest with Millennials on used car market

(September 10, 2015) SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Dodge Magnum has a higher rate of Millennial buyers than any other vehicle on the used car market, according to a new analysis released this week by car shopping destination Edmunds.com. The analysis further found that there is an array of unlikely, out-of-production models — like the Magnum, Chrysler Pacifica and Pontiac Aztek — that are finding new life on the pre-owned market with a younger crowd of buyers.

AAA predicts gas prices will drop under $2 in coming months

(September 5, 2015) Most U.S. drivers will pay the lowest gas prices since 2004 for the busy Labor Day weekend, according to AAA. This weekend's national average price of gas is $2.44 per gallon, which is 99 cents per gallon less than a year ago. U.S. consumers should save more than $1 billion on gasoline over the holiday weekend compared to 2014, with many drivers saving about $15-$25 on every trip to the gas station.
   

New-car transaction prices jump more than 3 percent

(September 3, 2015) RVINE, Calif. — The analysts at Kelley Blue Book kbb. this week reported the estimated average transaction price (ATP) for light vehicles in the United States was $33,543 in August representing an increase of $1,107 — 3.4 percent — from August 2014. Prices dropped $79 from last month.
