Toyota promotes electrification with nearly 24,000 royalty-free licenses

(April 4, 2019) TOYTOA CITY, Japan — With consideration for the amount of time, money and resources needed to develop sustainable mobility to help combat rising emissions and continuing to utilize currently available technology, Toyota has announced two measures related to its patents and technical knowledge to further promote the widespread use of electrified vehicles.

First, Toyota announced that it will grant royalty-free licenses on nearly 24,000 patents it holds (including some pending applications) for vehicle electrification-related technologies.

Mullen to bring Chinese electric car — the Qiantu K50 — to N.Y.

(April 4, 2019) NEW YORK — Mullen Technologies is pleased to announce the North American debut of the Qiantu (meaning “Future” in Chinese) K50 electric car at the New York Auto Show later this month. This past December, Mullen Technologies and Qiantu announced a cooperation agreement, which allows Mullen to sell the vehicle in North America.

The K50 EV is Qiantu’s flagship model and combines a 402 HP motor mounted on an all-aluminum frame with an aerodynamic carbon fiber design that combines lighter weight and a stronger downforce for optimal performance and handling.

Volvo adds 415-horsepower hybrid electric SUV and wagon to lineup

(April 4, 2019) ROCKLEIGH, N.J. — Volvo Car USA is adding 415 horsepower plug-in hybrid electric variants of its award-winning XC60 mid-sized SUV and all-new V60 mid-sized wagon to the 2020 line-up within the “Polestar Engineered” trim. The XC60 was named 2018 World Car of the Year and 2018 North American Utility of the Year.

The Farmall tractor was part of the brand architecture of International Harvester (IH), first introduced in 1923. During the 1940s it was the most popular tractor brand in the U.S. Production ended on Feb. 1, 1974, with the 5 millionth tractor coming off the assembly line in Rock Island, Ill. This early model tractor was retired and parked off a highway near LaGrange, N.C.
