Historic Bentleys to star at Edinburgh event

(August 31, 2015) EDINBURGH, Scotland — Scotland’s historical seat of power, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, is playing host to the 2015 Concours of Elegance Sept. 4-6, with an impressive array of Bentley models taking center stage.

The prestigious event — which showcases 60 of the world’s rarest and most valuable cars — will feature six Bentley models ranging from a 1927 6 ½ Liter Vanden Plas tourer to a 1960 S2 Continental with H.J. Mulliner Fastback coachwork.

Mecum Daytime Auction in Monterey exceeds $44 million in sales

(August 21, 2015) In a jaw-dropping display of some of the finest vehicles ever offered at the Mecum Daytime Auction in Monterey, Calif., $44,335,001 in total sales was achieved as 387 vehicles changed hands in three days of auction action, Aug. 13-15.

Headlined by the multimillion-dollar sales of a 1969 Lamborghini Miura P400 S and a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible, top sales at the auction included a total of seven cars that sold for $1 million or higher.

1915 Ford Model T ends cross-country trip in San Francisco

RM Sotheby's sets collector car auction benchmark with $172.9 million

(August 20, 2015) LOS ANGELES — RM Sotheby's cemented its leadership position in the global collector car auction industry on the weekend, generating $172.9 million in auction and post-auction private sales during its three-day Monterey, Calif., event.

The impressive tally ranks the event as the highest grossing collector car auction of all time, besting the company's 2014 Monterey performance by more than 20 percent.

Land Rover celebrates the legend at Goodwood revival

Michelin coming to Monterey Car Week with historical vehicle

(August 10, 2015) GREENVILLE, S.C. — Michelin is coming to the famed Monterey Car Week Aug. 13-16 with a vehicle that blazed a path in automotive history that didn't involve powerful engines or fancy sheet metal but quite simply air. The L'Eclair automobile commissioned by the Michelin brothers in 1895 rode on four skinny, white rubber inflated tires that proved once and for all that the future of the car would not be limited by the unforgiving rigidity of solid circles.

Nissan to highlight evolution of the sports sedan with trip to Monterey
