(December 25, 2015) Lexus has been using its "December to Remember" sales event for years, offering its own spin on gift giving by putting a new Lexus in the driveway on Christmas morning. The elaborate television ads usually show a well-to-do couple or a rather privileged family emerging from their million dollar house to find a new $50,000 Lexus with a huge red bow on the roof even as most of us common folks look on with a mix of emotions from total dislike to envy.

45th anniversary Barrett-Jackson auction to feature collectible Porsches

Replica car manufacturers, customers will benefit from new law

(December 8, 2015) WASHINGTON — It’s a new era for the kit car industry.  President Obama signed into law legislation that will permit low volume car manufacturers to produce turn-key replica vehicles for customers nationwide. 

The SEMA-supported provision is part of a larger highway construction bill.  Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) and Rep. Gene Green (D-TX) introduced the "Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act of 2015" in June, legislation that SEMA has pursued since 2011.  It received strong bi-partisan support and was inserted into the highway bill.

End of the line — Last Saab made for UK market to be sold

(November 27, 2015) COVENTRY, England — A rare 1978 Saab 96L Souvenir V4, the very last made for the UK market, will be going under the hammer next weekend in Classic Car Auctions’ (CCA) Christmas Sale, taking place on Dec. 5 at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre.

This important 1978 Saab is number 150 of 150 right-hand drive model 96 V4s produced for the UK, with a certificate present from Saab themselves to confirm this. It has covered a mere 3,010 miles from new in total, with the present vendor enjoying a pleasurable 1,000 miles of these.

Tony Soprano's Cadillac Escalade sells for $119,000 at auction

2005 Ford GT brings highest price at Mecum's Anaheim auction

(November 20, 2015) WALWORTH, Wis. — The Mecum Anaheim 2015 auction held Nov. 12-14 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California achieved $13,853,225 in total sales as 416 cars hammered sold throughout the three-day event.

Held annually since 2012, the Southern California auction has established itself as an important part of the Mecum Auctions’ calendar. Plans to return in 2016 for the fifth-annual event are already in place with dates set for Nov. 17-19.
