The awards recognize those vehicles most likely to shape the future of the automobile industry. This year, more than two dozen jurors participated in a selection process that involved 34 vehicles, each introduced to North America during this season's auto shows in Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, Toronto, and New York.

Infiniti IPL G Coupe ranked top high-performance car by Total Car Score

(July 12, 2012) LOS ANGELES — Total Car Score today issued its list of the Top 10 High-Performance Cars for 2012. The top scoring car — perhaps a bit of a surprise — is the Infiniti IPL G Coupe. Surprising because it beat out the BMW M3, Cadillac CTS-V and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.

Average fuel economy drops for third straight month

(July 10, 2012) SANTA MONICA, Calif. — TrueCar.com today provided actual fuel economy numbers from June light vehicle auto sales that indicate TrueMPG increased to 23.0 mpg in June 2012 compared to 21.6 mpg in June 2011, and decreased from May 2012 at 23.2 mpg. Just four years ago, in May 2008, TrueMPG was 21.2 mpg.

Chrysler takes issue with Swedish magazine's Grand Cherokee test

During the evaluation, the publication was able to capture images of a Grand Cherokee on two wheels as it performed an extreme maneuver in an overloaded condition.

Mercedes-Benz dealers rank first in Prospect Satisfaction Index

(July 9, 2012) MONTEREY, Calif. — Mercedes-Benz dealerships ranked highest in the newly released 2012 Pied Piper Prospect Satisfaction Index (PSI U.S. Auto Industry Benchmarking Study, which measured dealership treatment of car-shoppers.  Study rankings by brand were determined by the patent-pending Pied Piper PSI process, which ties "mystery shopping" measurement and scoring to industry sales success.

The pop singer is 18-year-old Justin Bieber, who was spotted weaving in and out of traffic in his chrome Fisker Karma (a gift from Ellen DeGeneres) on the Ventura Freeway in Studio City, about 10 a.m. yesterday.

Crash avoidance features reduce crashes, study concludes

Forward collision avoidance systems, particularly those that can brake autonomously, along with adaptive headlights, which shift direction as the driver steers, show the biggest crash reductions.

Honda and Toyota transaction prices continue to climb

Toyota Camry rated most 'American car'

While this is the fourth consecutive year the Camry has held the top spot, the Ford F-150's return to the list resulted in the narrowest gap between first and second in the index's history.

Good news — New car prices down on average $500 per vehicle

(June 28, 2012) IRVINE, Calif. — On average, consumers are paying $500 less for a new vehicle today compared to just one year ago, according to Kelley Blue Book.  Low inventory levels are no longer suppressing new-vehicle sales as supply is meeting demand.
