(December 5, 2023) LINCOLN, Neb. — When Ben Welch drove his new Chevy Suburban off the dealership lot in 1994, he was curious to see how many miles it would go by following a good maintenance routine. Per General Motors, only about one percent of Suburbans go over 250,000 miles. So it was remarkable when Welch watched his odometer flip to one million miles earlier this year, without ever having a complete engine overhaul or the engine pulled from the vehicle for service!

The concept car was created as part of Polyphony Digital’s Vision Gran Turismo series and will be available to race in the game from January 2024.

Baton relay crosses Europe, Mid East,
China and U.S. before returning home

(December 4, 2023) CREWE, England — A unique global relay, marking 20 years of the Continental GT, has reached its conclusion with the arrival in Crewe of the specially-made 20th anniversary baton. The baton’s lap of the world included stops in Europe, the Middle East, China, Asia Pacific, the US and UK, visiting 20 journalists and content creators in the process as part of 20 memorable drives — one for each year of Continental GT production.

This 1947 or 1948 Chevrolet Thriftmaster pickup was spotted sinking into the ground in a front yard near Austin, Texas. The pickup was completely redesigned in 1947 and carried the Thriftmaster or Loadmaster emblems through the early part of 1949. The designations were dropped in 1949 in favor of numbers that designated cargo capacity: 3100 on half-ton, 3600 on three-quarter ton and 3800 on one ton. (Photos by Jim Meachen)
