Car-watching Falcon



The Ford Falcon was produced by Ford from the 1960 to 1970 model years, the first compact car marketed by the American Big Three automobile manufacturers. This second-generation 1965 Falcon sits abandoned watching the traffic on a South Carolina road. Most second-generation Falcons were propelled by an inline 6-cylinder engine mated to a 3-speed automatic.

All-new 340 hp inline six turbo to be available in 2024 Mazda CX-90



(January 18, 2023) IRVINE, Calif. — On Jan. 31, Mazda North American Operations will reveal the first-ever 2024 Mazda CX-90. The CX-90 will be offered with a highly anticipated all-new powerful and responsive 3.3-liter inline six e-Skyactiv turbo engine. The available 3.3-liter will have the highest horsepower and torque from a mass production gasoline engine developed by Mazda with 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque when using the recommended premium fuel.

Ford announces new solar power plant in Spain



(January 18, 2023) COLOGNE, Germany —  Ford is looking to the future with a new solar power plant at its Almussafes manufacturing facilities in Valencia, Spain. By 2035, Ford is committed to having zero emissions electric vehicles for all vehicle sales in Europe and targets carbon neutrality across its European footprint of facilities and suppliers. This latest initiative, which began operating in late 2022, highlights the company’s on-going drive to meet that commitment.   

Rear-wheel drive, more range, faster charging for electric Volvo C40 and XC40

Chip shortages remain unchanged this month



(January 17, 2023) Automakers eliminated no additional vehicles from their 2023 worldwide production plans last week because of the ongoing global microchip shortage, according to AutoForecast Solutions, and the estimate for North America was revised downward slightly. The latest total estimate of losses was 219,100 vehicles, virtually unchanged from a week prior, according to Automotive News.

1973 Chrysler Town & Country wagon is ultimate family hauler

(January 16, 2023) In the late 1980s, Chrysler transformed its Town & Country, and most other station wagons it produced, by reimagining them into its first-generation minivans, built on the front-wheel-drive S platform and sharing powertrain with Lee Iacocca’s ubiquitous K-cars. That’s notable because for most of the time leading up to then, the Town & Country was a massive, luxury-packed conventional station wagon with a longitudinal layout and an overall length that stretched right out of sight.
