(August 8, 2022) Mecum Auctions has spent the vast majority of 2022 breaking and setting new auction records with unprecedented success beginning with the highest grossing collector car auction ever held in Kissimmee, Fla., this past January. The company’s most recent auction in Harrisburg, Pa., held July 27-30, followed the year’s record-setting trend with a total of $40 million in overall sales for a nearly 30% increase over the 2019 Harrisburg record of $31 million.

Maserati launches new 10-year warranty program



(August 8, 2022) Flexibility, innovation, and personalization: these are the fundamental factors that guide the Maserati Personal Service Lab in the development of new services dedicated to its customers. Maserati has introduced a new Extra10 Warranty Program, to extend the coverage of powertrain components — engine, gearbox, transmission — until the car turns 10 years old. Offered in addition to the existing program to extend the warranty to four or five years (known as “Extended Warranty”), the service is available worldwide, for all customers who own any Maserati model.

Jaguar Land Rover prepares for electrified future with new testing facility



(August 8, 2022)  Jaguar Land Rover has taken another step towards a new era of electrification and connectivity by opening a facility to test the next generation of vehicles for electrical and radio interference.  The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) laboratory at the Gaydon facility in the UK, will ensure future vehicles meet current and future legislation and quality standards for connectivity and electronics. The new Range Rover Sport, which launched in May, was the first vehicle to undergo a bespoke testing program at the in-house facility.

Toyota offers buybacks of electric bZ4X vehicles after recall



(August 6, 2022) Toyota has offered a series of make-goods to hundreds of owners of the new 2023 bZ4X — including an offer to buy back the electric compact crossover — as recompense for asking them to stop driving the recalled vehicle because of concerns that the wheels could fall off. An estimated 260 of the vehicles were in the United States, and a remedy has not yet been determined to allow the vehicles to again be safely driven, Toyota said.

Ringbrothers unveils 'CAGED,' the Ultimate Mustang Convertible restomod



(August 6, 2022) SPRING GREEN, Wis. — Ringbrothers, the well-known custom car builder and parts manufacturer, has unveiled its latest creation — a custom-built 1964.5 Ford Mustang convertible known as “CAGED.” The design objective was to subtly evolve and modernize the original Mustang’s lines and proportions while honoring the aesthetic of Ford’s original pony car. The result is a modern appeal and unbridled performance mating the design of a 20th century icon with the technology of the 21st.


Volkswagen announces pricing stating at $38,790 for the 2023 ID.4



(August 5, 2022) HERNDON, Va. — Volkswagen of America has announced that pricing for the 2023 ID.4 electric compact SUV will start at $38,790 including destination charge, with an all-new entry battery pack, upgraded exterior and interior design, new aluminum-alloy wheels, updated improved center console, and more features.

Musk says Tesla production could hit 2 million a year by end of 2022



(August 5, 2022) Tesla CEO Elon Musk told shareholders this week that the EV maker will have an annual run rate of 2 million vehicles by the end of this year and will continue to build new factories to join the four it currently has in operation. Musk said Tesla could announce a new factory location as soon as this year, according to the Automotive news.
