Petersen Automotive Museum announces new hypercar exhibit



(November 12, 2021) LOS ANGELES — The Petersen Automotive Museum has announced a new exhibit that explores the world of hypercars, the fastest and most exclusive cars money can buy, which is coming to the museum on December 4, 2021. Over the next 18 months, the exhibit Hypercars: The Allure of the Extreme will rotate up to 30 vehicles that highlight what hypercars stand for and why they continue to captivate the global automotive community.

West Virginia leading the charge in Toyota’s electrified future



(November 12, 2021) BUFFALO, W.Va.  — Long known for providing the get-up-and-go for many of Toyota’s most popular vehicles, Toyota West Virginia (TMMWV) has announced a new $240 million investment to add a dedicated production line of hybrid transaxles. The new hybrid transaxle line investment will provide new equipment and operational upgrades to modernize the facility. One important result of the new line is that it will allow TMMWV team members to diversify their skillset and play a larger role in Toyota’s future producing electric vehicles in North America.

Ford and Purdue University working on ultra-fast charging cable

Through a research alliance, researchers from both groups are working to develop a new, patent-pending charging station cable that could combine with in-development vehicle charging technology, making it even easier for people to transition to EVs with seamless re-charging.

Toyota expands commitment to American Center for Mobility with $6 million investment



(November 11, 2021) YPSILANTI, Mich. — Toyota is expanding its commitment to the American Center for Mobility (ACM) with a new investment of nearly $3.5 million in a five-year lease for exclusive on-campus facilities, plus an additional estimated $2.5 million for increased use of ACM testing resources. The agreement includes build-out of vehicle labs and office workspaces in new campus construction. Toyota is using ACM for development of future automated and advanced driver assistance technology.
