The remains of a pre-war Dodge



Dodge pickups underwent a complete redesign with streamlined styling in 1939. One of those styling features was a very attractive front end, which is one of the few things that has survived this 1941 Dodge. The 1941 truck came with a 218 cubic inch six-cylinder engine making 75 horsepower.

Mitsubishi launches 3-year strategic plan — 'Drive for Growth"

(October 19, 2017) TOKYO, Japan — Mitsubishi has launched "Drive for Growth," a three-year strategic plan to deliver sustained and profitable growth, targeting an increase of more than 30 percent in both annual unit sales to 1.3 million vehicles and in revenues to 2.5 trillion yen.

Under the plan, Mitsubishi Motors aims to achieve an operating profit margin of 6 percent or more by the end of fiscal 2019, up from 0.3% percent in fiscal 2016. The plan combines a product renewal program with targeted market expansion and operating efficiency improvements.

Mecum Las Vegas auction to feature estimated 1,000 vehicles

(October 19, 2017) — Mecum, the world’s largest collector-car auction company, will produce its first-ever Las Vegas collector-car auction on Nov. 16-18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center featuring an estimated 1,000 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, Hot Rods, Resto Mods and more to cross the auction block from approximately 20 surrounding states and Canada.

Ford recalls more than 1.3 million F-150s for door latch issue

(October 19, 2017) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford is issuing a safety recall in North America for the F-150 including 1,101,107  in the United States and federalized territories. The recall involves certain 2015-17 Ford F-150 and 2017 Ford Super Duty vehicles. Including Canada and Mexico, the recall involves 1,344,695 vehicles.

Toyota recalling 310,000 Sienna vehicles for shift lever problem

(October 19, 2017) PLANO, Texas — Toyota has announced that it is conducting a safety recall of certain 2005 – 2007, 2009 and 2010 Sienna vehicles in the U.S.  Approximately 310,000 vehicles are involved.  In the involved vehicles, grease inside the shift lever assembly could transfer to other internal components, causing them to function improperly.

This could allow the shift lever to be moved out of the “Park” position without depressing the brake pedal. If this occurs when the parking brake is not engaged, it could lead to a vehicle rollaway and increase the risk of a crash.

Porsche expands Boxster and Cayman lineups with new GTS model

(October 18, 2017) ATLANTA — Porsche is expanding the mid-engine 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman model lines with new GTS models. A newly developed intake plenum and an optimized turbocharger increases the output of the 2.5 liter flat-four cylinder engine to 365 horsepower. This is 15 horsepower more than on the 718 S models and up to 35 horsepower more compared to the previous generation of naturally aspirated Boxster and Cayman GTS variants.

2018 Honda CR-V goes on sale starting at $25,095

Volvo and Geely Holdings invest $756 million to develop Polestar

(October 17, 2017) Volvo Cars and its owner Geely Holding today announced they will jointly invest approximately $756 million to support the initial phase of Polestar’s product, brand and industrial development.

The investment highlights the financial muscle and industrial and manufacturing expertise Polestar will have access to, and establishes the fully consolidated Volvo Cars subsidiary as a stand-alone electrified performance car company as it reveals its first production model in Shanghai today.
