Audi e-tron proves fast and reliable

(October 8, 2017) VALENCIA, Spain — The new Audi e-tron FE04 has left a strong impression at the official pre-season testing of the Formula E electric racing series at Valencia, Spain. Team Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler from Monday to Thursday completed the largest number of test kilometers of all 10 teams. The lap times of the first all-electric Audi race car were promising as well.

Honda opens factory doors to students on National Manufacturing Day

New vehicle infotainment systems create distractions behind wheel

(October 6, 2017) WASHINGTON, D.C. — New vehicle infotainment systems take drivers’ eyes and attention off the road and hands off the wheel for potentially dangerous periods of time, according to new research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. Drivers using in-vehicle technologies like voice-based and touch screen features were visually and mentally distracted for more than 40 seconds when completing tasks like programming navigation or sending a text message.

Cadillac global sales rise 16.5 percent in September

(October 7, 2017) NEW YORK — Cadillac globally sold 35,020 units in September, maintaining a 16-month run of consecutive growth.  With these latest results, the brand remains on pace to surpass last year’s total of 308,718 vehicles sold. Year-to-date, sales are up 44,336 units compared to September 2016, totaling 256,613 units.

September year-over-year sales increased 1.1 percent in the United States. China continues to be a strong performing market where sales were up by 37.6 percent year over year, followed by significant gains in Japan, the Middle East, Israel and South Korea.

GM outlines possibilities for flexible, autonomous fuel cell platform

The company will display its Silent Utility Rover Universal Superstructure (SURUS), a flexible fuel cell electric platform with autonomous capabilities, at the fall meeting of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Oct. 9-11.
