1984 MG Metro Turbo to star at Silverstone auction

(January 27, 2017) WARWICKSHIRE, England — A remarkably original 1984 MG Metro Turbo with just 7,317 miles on the clock has been consigned by Silverstone Auctions to its Race Retro Classic Car Sale taking place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, on Feb. 25 and 26.

With just two owners from new, the time-warp, concours winning Metro Turbo is expected to tempt bidders nationwide on auction day, representing a unique opportunity for MG collectors, as well as a potentially lucrative investment prospect, estimated at £16,000 to £20,000 ($20,000 to $25,000).

Barrett-Jackson breaks 40 vehicle sales records at Scottsdale auction

(January 24, 2017) SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Barrett-Jackson kicked off its 46th year by breaking more than 40 vehicle auction sales records (as verified by Hagerty Data) during the 46th Annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, held Jan. 14-22 at WestWorld of Scottsdale. During the automotive lifestyle event, 1,719 vehicles were consigned, the most at one auction in the company’s history, with vehicle sales totaling approximately $100 million at a 99.5-percent sell-through rate.

Mecum exceeds $86 million at Kissimmee auction

(January 21, 2017) Mecum Kissimmee 2017, the world’s largest collector-car auction held Jan. 6-15, at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Fla., achieved more than $86 million in total sales. Of the nearly 2,700 vehicles to cross the auction block throughout the 10-day auction, a total of 1,981 vehicles were sold, accounting for a 75-percent sell-through rate, an astonishing accomplishment for a reserve-based auction platform.

Mecum to debut Los Angeles collector-car auction

Leake Auction Co. has variety of cars on the block in Oklahoma City

(January 19, 2017) Leake Auction Company has announced that a collection of 50 cars from Leaded Gas Classics and the Jim McLane Collection, will be offered without reserve during their Oklahoma City auction, Feb. 24, 25 and 26. This year’s event will be held in the newly constructed Bennett Event Center at State Fair Park.

The collection features a variety of vehicles, ranging from Corvettes and Mustangs to a Ford GT and Yenko Deuce Coupe.

68th annual Grand National Roadster Show set for Jan. 27-29

Future classic cars to be on display at Scottsdale show Jan. 16

(January 6, 2016) PHOENIX, Ariz. — ClassicCars.com, home to the industry’s largest community of collector car owners, buyers and enthusiasts, will hold the 2nd Annual Future Classics Car Show, taking place Monday, Jan. 16, in Scottsdale, Ariz. The show will occur during Arizona Collector Car Week and will display “future classics” model years 1975 to 2016 in the Domestic, Import, and Euro categories.

Arizona Collector Car Week has always focused on the present assortment of classic cars, but until recently, no one had the foresight to promote the next crop of up-and-coming collector cars.
