Mecum Anaheim auction to feature 750 collector cars

Rare vintage racing car goes to auction in Houston

(October 29, 2016) HOUSTON —  Dan Kruse Classics has announced that one of the rarest of vintage racing cars will go to auction in November. The auction celebrates the greatest race car driver of his era, Sir Stirling Moss. On Nov. 25 the Sir Stirling Moss 1966 Shelby GT350 Mustang that Moss drove in vintage competitions from 1993 to 1999 will hit the auction block at the Dan Kruse Classic Classic Car Auction to be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

Mecum Auctions to offer 130 cars from Ron MacWhorter Collection

(October 24, 2016) DALLAS — Mecum Auctions will offer more than 130 cars from the Ron MacWhorter Collection at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas on Wednesday, Nov. 2. All but 10 cars from the collection will be offered at No Reserve.

MacWhorter has a special passion for the car collecting hobby, one that has only grown over the years. He absolutely loves “America’s Sports Car,” involving himself with five different Corvette-centric clubs and making Corvettes a special concentration of his wide-ranging collection.

Auto Collectors Garage to offer 16 restored cars for auction

(October 19, 2016) HOUSTON — Auto Collectors Garage (ACG) has announced its participation with 16 prized and restored classic cars in the Nov. 25-26, 2016 Dan Kruse Classics auction, which will be held during the Houston AutoRama set for Nov.24-27 at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

ACG is a long-time Houston area classic car restoration company which was founded by industry expert, Ken Dougherty, in 1979. Since then, ACG has been engaged in restoration and sales of everything from a 1929 Duesenburg to 50's and 60's classics and muscle cars.

Mecum to display two cars, motorcycles at SEMA in Las Vegas

(October 19, 2016) WALWORTH, Wis.— Mecum Auctions returns to the SEMA Show Nov. 1-4 with a display of stunning cars and motorcycles along with the Mecum Mobile Experience in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Leading off the vehicles on display is a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window Coupe Resto Mod (pictured below) built by Jeff Hayes of American Speed Shop of Bloomington, Ind. Hayes is no stranger to building show-winning Corvette Resto Mods, most notably ones based on the mid-year variety comprising the years 1963 to 1967.

1,000-car lineup for Mecum auction in Dallas to include muscle cars

(October 13, 2016) WALWORTH, Wis. — Mecum Auctions, the world’s largest collector car auction company, will be back in action for its sixth-year running at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas this Nov. 2-5. The estimated 1,000-car lineup will draw buyers, sellers and spectators from across the United States and will consist of a wide-ranging variety with names like Hemi Cuda, Shelby, Yenko, Porsche, Ferrari and more all on the docket.

Mecum three-day sale total hits $10.5 million in Chicago

(October 12, 2016) WALWORTH, Wis. — Chicagoland’s only annual classic and collector car auction returned to the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center this past weekend where attendees watched as Mecum Auctions dropped the gavel on 435 cars in just three days, Oct. 6-8. Total sales for the high-energy event reached $10.5 million, and bidder and spectator turnout was strong with special appearances by members of the Chicago Blackhawks organization.

Inaugural Atlanta Concours high on prestige with cars of provenance

(October 11, 2016) ATLANTA, Ga. — The inaugural Atlanta Concours d’Elegance took on the classic car world with conviction this past weekend, as this newest classic car show entered the American Concours circuit and not only boasted its own field of vehicles of provenance, but awarded its highest honors to two significant cars that have earned former class-winning entrée from the likes of Pebble Beach, Meadowbrook and Amelia Island.

Top honors belonged to DeNean Stafford III of Tifton, Ga, with his 1909 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, receiving the Atlanta Concours’ 2016 "Best of Show."
