Imaugural Mecum auction a success with $9.3 million in sales

(February 23, 2017) WALWORTH, Wis. — Sales totals at Mecum Auctions’ inaugural Los Angeles classic- and collector-car auction climbed to more than $9.3 million when the auction company returned to the Golden State last weekend. Despite record-setting rainfall across Southern California, 283 vehicles were sold over the course of the two-day auction, and more than 116 pieces of Road Art left Pomona in the hands of new owners.

Rare two-engine 1965 Citroen 2CV Sahara on auction block

(February 22, 2017) BIRMINGHAM, UK — Classic Car Auctions (CCA) has consigned a rare 1965 Citroen 2CV Sahara with an unusual, globetrotting past to its biggest ever sale taking place at the NEC, Birmingham. This particular example was delivered to Nigeria in December 1965 and first registered to an Englishman working as an anthropologist at the Ahmadu Bello University of federal government research in Zaria.

Modified 1936 Packard wins top award at Sacramento Autorama

(February 21, 2017) SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento Autorama, one of the world’s longest running indoor car shows, celebrated its 67th year and handed out over 400 individual awards during its closing ceremony on Sunday. The most prestigious of these awards were the “Custom d’Elegance” which was awarded to the “Mulholland Speedster” built by Hollywood Hot Rods, the “King of Kustoms” award which went to John D’Agostino, and the H.A Bagdasarian “World’s Most Beautiful Custom” award which was presented to the “Mulholland Speedster” built by Hollywood Hot Rods.
