Ducati, Diesel launch the Monster Diesel

(March 18, 2012) NEW YORK — Introducing an exciting new phase in the partnership, which started in 2011 with the sponsorship of the Ducati Team in MotoGP, Ducati and Diesel now launch the Monster Diesel with a dedicated Capsule Collection.

The brand new customized model is an "urban military chic" interpretation of Ducati’s iconic naked motorcycle and was unveiled alongside the new collection at the Diesel stores of New York-Soho March 15.

Harley-Davidson styling chief, Willie Davidson, to retire

(March 17, 2012) MILWAUKEE — After nearly 50 years as head of styling, Willie G. Davidson is retiring from Harley-Davidson on April 30. Davidson, Senior Vice President and Chief Styling Officer, is widely recognized as a legend in the world of motorcycling and motorcycle design.

He will continue his involvement with the company as an ambassador at motorcycle rallies and events, and through special design projects as Chief Styling Officer Emeritus.

Three legendary motorcycle builders collaborate on four new creations

(March 13, 2012) NORTHBROOK, Ill. — Today, in partnership with three of the country's top motorcycle builders, Allstate Insurance Company announced the unveiling of four custom motorcycle creations inspired by the company, one of which will be given away as the grand prize in a national sweepstakes. 

The unveiling is a milestone within the motorcycle industry, marking the first-ever collaboration between legendary builders Arlen Ness, Rick Fairless and Dave Perewitz.

Audi reportedly seeks Ducati

(March 13, 2012) According to British automotive magazine CAR, Ducati is not only for sale, but the most likely buyer is automotive manufacturer Audi.  According to the story posted online by CAR, Audi has an agreement with Ducati making it the exclusive party to negotiate with Ducati through mid-April.

Harley-Davidson joins forces with Marvel for 'Assemble Your Freedom'

Some Ducati models recalled over potential fuel-system problems

(February 17, 2012) Italian motorcycle maker Ducati is recalling certain Monster and Hypermotard models from the 2011 and 2012 model years to fix potential fuel-system problems that could lead to fires.

The company said some of the bikes have fuel lines with a condition called micro-cracking that resulted from problems with raw materials used in the manufacturing process. The cracking could cause a fuel leak, which increase the risk of injury by fire.

Harley-Davidson celebrating 110 years

(February 2, 2012) MILWAUKEE — Harley-Davidson will celebrate 110 years of great motorcycles and epic riding experiences with an array of global events and activities in 2013. Among the events during the year-long celebration will be a rally in Rome, Italy, June 13-16, and a massive party over Labor Day weekend, Aug. 29 - Sept. 1, in Milwaukee.

Zero Motorcycles ranked highest in study of electric cycle builders

(February 1, 2012) SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — Zero Motorcycles today announced it achieved the highest overall results in an independent study conducted by Pike Research. The study, called the Pike Pulse Report, evaluated the competitive landscape of both the electric motorcycle and electric scooter markets and gave Zero Motorcycles top ranking.

Harley-Davidson motorcycle sales up 5.9 percent in 2011

(January 24, 2012) MILWAUKEE — Harley-Davidson reported a strong finish to 2011, with improved fourth-quarter performance capping a year of earnings and dealer retail sales growth. Harley-Davidson motorcycle retail sales rose 5.9 percent worldwide and 5.8  percent in the U.S. in 2011.

Retail sales of new Harley-Davidson motorcycles grew 10.9 percent worldwide in the fourth quarter compared to the prior-year period, including an 11.8 percent increase in the U.S.
