Survey findings, collected by AAA, the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and AARP also reveal that twice the number of women attended driver safety courses despite the fact that older men drove more often than older women by 12 percent.

New car transaction prices in April up almost 2 percent year over year

Edmunds forecasts best April new-car sales since 2007

(April 29, 2013) SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Edmunds.com forecasts that 1,306,901 new cars and trucks will be sold in the U.S. in April for an estimated Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate (SAAR) of 15.2 million light vehicles. This will be a 10.4 percent increase from April 2012, but a 10 percent decrease from last month.

Luxury vehicle sales up nearly 15 percent in first quarter

(April 25, 2013) IRVINE, Calif. — As overall U.S. auto sales posted respectable gains of more than 6 percent in the first quarter, the luxury market more than doubled overall industry gains at 14.6 percent compared to last year, according to the latest New-Car Market Report from Kelley Blue Book kbb.com.

"The Q1 2013 total of nearly 400,000 luxury units marks the largest first quarter for new luxury vehicle sales since 2007," said Alec Gutierrez, senior market analyst of automotive insights.

AAA identifies motorist breaking point on gas prices — $3.44 a gallon

(April 23, 2013) WASHINGTON — Half of U.S. adults consider gas prices to be "too high" when it reaches $3.44 per gallon, indicating a potential breaking point on gas prices, according to a new consumer price index developed by AAA. Roughly two-thirds of Americans (62 percent) are offsetting high gas prices by changing their driving habits or lifestyle.
