Volkswagen starts operation of battery engineering lab in U.S.



(June 9, 2022) Volkswagen of America (VWoA) has opened its Battery Engineering Lab (BEL) in Chattanooga, Tenn., to test and optimize batteries for all electric vehicles in the American marketplace. By developing critical battery expertise in-house, the $22 million, 32,000 square foot facility will enable Volkswagen to gain a competitive edge in the push to electric mobility.

Lamborghini Urus achieves new production record



(June 8, 2022) Automobili Lamborghini has added a new record to its list with its Super SUV Urus, as the best-selling model in the shortest time ever. Since its market debut in 2018, 20,000 units have been produced, setting sales records year on year. The 20,000th Urus, in Viola Mithras with black calipers and panoramic roof, came off the production line June 7, destined for a customer in Azerbaijan.

Ford launches technician training program in three new locations



(June 7, 2022) DEARBORN, Mich.  — Ford is expanding the curriculum and adding locations to its premier training program designed to add more specially trained automotive technicians to a fast-growing field that now includes electric vehicles. The initiative, known as Automotive Student Service Educational Training (ASSET), is a collaboration between Ford, Ford and Lincoln dealers and select community colleges and technical schools.
