With £600M investment Mini going electric in Oxford



Production of two electrified
models to start in UK in 2026


(September 12, 2023) OXFORD, UK — BMW Group has announced a new investment of more than £600 million ($750 million) in the Mini factories at Oxford and Swindon. “With this new investment Mini will develop the Oxford plant for production of the new generation of electric Minis and set the path for purely electric car manufacturing in the future,” says Milan Nedeljković, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for production.

Honda to adopt North American Charging Standard

(September 8, 2023) Honda Motor Co has announced that it has reached an agreement with Tesla, Inc. to adopt Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS) for the charging port of its EV models that will go on sale in North America starting from 2025. In 2025, Honda is planning to launch a new EV model in North America equipped with a NACS port. From that point forward, Honda will continue adopting NACS standards for its models.

BMW iX5 Hydrogen undergoes test drives in the desert

(September 8, 2023) MUNICH, Germany — The vehicles in the BMW iX5 Hydrogen pilot fleet, which launched in February this year, have completed an intensive round of hot-weather testing in the United Arab Emirates for the first time. The car’s fuel cell drive system performed impressively in the face of temperatures rising to 45°C, as well as sand and dust, varying gradients and significant fluctuations in humidity.
