2024 Ford F-150 gets new base engine, new tailgate design



(September 15, 2023) DETROIT — Ford is freshening the F-150 lineup for the 2024 model year and planning to double output of the hybrid variant as it seeks to maintain the truck's sales dominance. The updated pickup, which goes on sale early next year, was revealed late Tuesday ahead of the 2023 Detroit auto show. It includes freshened hybrid, Tremor and Raptor variants with new design elements and improved tailgate functionality.

A Ranchero lives among other relics



The Ford Ranchero is a coupe utility that was produced by Ford between 1957 and 1979. Unlike a standard pickup truck, the Ranchero was adapted from a two-door station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body. A total of 508,355 units were produced during the model's production run. Over its lifespan it was variously derived from full-sized, compact, and intermediate automobiles. This first-generation 1959 Ranchero was found rusting away in an Arizona salvage yard.
