Report finds pickup truck tailgate thefts increasing

(February 7, 2013) DES PLAINES, Ill. —The National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) today released a first-time report that examines the incidents of tailgate thefts across the United States, of which 1,343 claims were generated from 45 states. Notably, the rate of tailgate theft claims has been increasing since 2009, with an 18 percent increase projected from 2011 to 2012.

Classic 1970s Beetle serves as inspiration for the 2014 Beetle GSR

General Motors has all-time record sales month in China

January sales totaled 310,765 units, an increase of 26.0 percent from the same month in 2012 and 15.9 percent above the previous all-time monthly high of 268,035 units in January 2011.

New Toyota GT86 racer ready for testing

(February 6, 2013) LONDON — The first GT4 racing version of the Toyota GT86 will hit the track later this month following completion of the first chassis by Buckingham-based motorsport engineering pioneer GPRM.

The new car is powered by a 2.0-liter direct injection turbocharged four-cylinder ‘Boxer’ engine which has been developed in conjunction with Nicholson McLaren Engines. The GT86 will be shaken down at a UK circuit ahead of a schedule of European tests and the pre-season "balance of performance" sessions organized by GT4 series organizer SRO.
