Nissan continues fast-paced growth in Brazil

(June 6, 2012) SAO PAULO, Brazil — Nissan do Brasil has registered 8,848 vehicles in May, which represents an increase of 93 percent compared to same period of last year. This result represented a market share of 3.2 percent for the brand.

In May, Nissan do Brasil has also been highlighted in the city of Sao Paulo, one of the largest Brazilian markets, where Nissan registered a 4.9 percent market share. In other main cities in the country, Nissan do Brasil has achieved strong market share: Recife with 6.1 percent, Rio de Janeiro with 5.3 percent, Brasília with 5.4 percent, and Curitiba with 4.9 percent.

Positive acceptance of Nissan vehicles has not been limited to the customer, with Nissan products also receiving praise from specialized press. Nissan March and Nissan Versa were recently highlighted when receiving "Best Car" and "Which One to Buy 2012" awards, both granted by important Brazilian magazines. Plus, both models were nominated as "Right Buy" by Car and Driver Brasil magazine in June.
