Shell collaborating on a gas-engine city car concept

(April 9, 2015) Oil giant Shell has announced that in collaboration with the legendary race and road car designer Professor Gordon Murray of the Gordon Murray Design Group and engine specialist Osamu Goto from Geo Technology it will co-engineer an ultra-compact, efficient car for city use based around the internal combustion engine.

The Shell car is scheduled to be unveiled in November.

National gas prices continue to fall from the 2015 high on March 7

(April 7, 2015) WASHINGTON — The price at the pump continues to reflect seasonality as refineries complete scheduled maintenance and prepare for the summer driving season. The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline has fallen for 24 of the past 30 days, after reaching a peak-to-date price for 2015 of $2.46 per gallon on March 7, according to AAA.

Study finds Honda Civic, Accord lead industry in sales to young buyers

(April 4, 2015) TORRANCE, Calif. — The Honda Accord and Civic are the two best-selling cars with under-35 buyers over the past 11 years, according to Honda analysis of cumulative registration data from IHS Automotive.

The Accord and Civic — which were also the top retail-selling cars in their respective segments in 2013 and 20142 — with combined registrations of more than one million vehicles in the U.S. to "Millennials" from 2004-20141, more than any other two cars across the industry.

New-car transaction prices climb more than 3 percent In March

(April 1, 2015) IRVINE, Calif. — The analysts at Kelley Blue Book kbb.com today report the estimated average transaction price (ATP) for light vehicles in the United States was $33,280 in March, an have increase of $1,125 (up 3.5 percent) from March 2014. Prices dropped $41 from last month.

"A lift in average transaction prices can be attributed to consumers' continued interest in buying trucks and SUVs," said Alec Gutierrez, senior analyst for Kelley Blue Book. 

Airwheel's electric unicycles tour the UK

Autotrader study: Consumers want big changes to car buying process
