Hyundai Tucson gets engine, styling upgrades for 2014

(October 3, 2013) COSTA MESA, Calif. — The Hyundai Tucson adds even value in 2014 with advanced 2.0-liter Nu and 2.4-liter Theta II Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines, enhancing torque and engine responsiveness, according to Hyundai.

With GDI standard on Tucson, like its big-brother Santa Fe, every Hyundai CUV now features this performance-enhancing technology. Tucson is the first Hyundai to receive the 2.0-liter Nu GDI engine in the United States. It will be applied to other models later in the 2014 model year.

Ford Mustang voted Europe’s most-wanted classic car

(October 2, 2013) COLOGNE, Germany — Ford Mustang is Europe’s most desirable classic car, according to a survey of more than 75,000 users of online car portal AutoScout24.

A total of 37 percent of Europeans — from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Italy and Spain — named Ford Mustang as the classic car they would most like to own. Confirmed as coming to Europe soon for the first time since the 1970s, Mustang is the clear winner, ahead of the BMW M1 (20 percent) and Volkswagen Beetle (11 percent).

Ford, Chrysler lead mixed bag of September sales results

(October 2, 2013) A mixed bag of September sales results was released Tuesday with the first monthly decline since May 2011. Ford and Chrysler were the only major automakers in the win column helped by full-size pickup truck sales.

September’s overall sales decline was attributed almost exclusively to fewer selling days than last September, which unlike this year included sales from the Labor Day weekend, a busy sales period. Still, it was the first time in more than two years that U.S. auto industry sales declined on a year-over-year basis.
