Three generations of the compact Ford Falcon were built from 1960 through 1970. The Falcon was given a more squared-off appearance for the second generation (1964-65). This second-generation Falcon was found in neglected condition in North Carolina. The new Mustang was based heavily on the Falcon's unitized frame design. It could be ordered with three variations of the inline 6 and with three V-8 engines, the biggest a 302 cubic inch (4.9 liter).  (Photo by Ralph Gable)
