AAA: Fear of self-driving cars on the rise

(March 4, 2023) ORLANDO, Fla.  — The results of AAA’s annual automated vehicle survey show that while there is still a high level of interest in partially-automated vehicle technology, attitudes toward fully self-driving vehicles have become increasingly apprehensive. This year there was a major increase in drivers who are afraid, rising to 68% as compared to 55% in 2022. This is a 13% jump from last year’s survey and the biggest increase since 2020.

(March 4, 2023) New Yorkers experience the worst congestion in the country - traveling at an average of just 12 mph during rush hour, according to a study by Stress Free Car Rental.  Motorists in Washington D.C. and San Francisco experience the second and third worst congestion across the country, with an average travel speed of 14 mph and 15 mph respectively, during peak times.

Pump prices rise slightly, but still lower than month ago

Driver less likely to be killed in good-rated crash-test vehicles



(February 2, 2023) ARLINGTON, Va. — Driving a vehicle that earns a good rating in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s driver-side small overlap front crash test reduces your risk of dying in a real-world crash, a new IIHS study shows.  A driver in a good-rated vehicle is 12 percent less likely than a driver in a poor-rated one to be killed in a frontal crash, the study found.

(March 1, 2023) Automakers across the industry are eyeing billions of dollars in revenue in the near future from subscription-based features in cars. But their plans still face a significant speed bump that’s worth paying attention to: consumers hate the idea. That’s according to the latest survey by Autolist.com, which found that 69 percent of car shoppers said they would not subscribe to features in a vehicle in general; just seven percent of consumers supported the idea.
