New book celebrates 90 years of Ducati motorcycle design

American Honda to offer 2017 CB 1100 EX

Ducati Globetrotter 90° completes tour of American West

(October 26, 2016) BORGO PANIGALE, Bologna, ITALY —  The fourth stage of the around the world voyage with the Multistrada 1200 Enduro has come to a successful end. Brazilian Eduardo Generali, having completed 3,923 miles along roads crossing the American West, has arrived in Indianapolis, where he passed the Globetrotter 90° torch on to Steve Fraser.

Steve, the fifth motorcyclist selected to take part in this thrilling adventure, will continue the ‘coast to coast’, riding from Indiana to New York.

BMW Group Plant Manaus in Brazil starts motorcycle production

(October 21, 2016) MANAUS, Brazil — BMW Motorrad celebrated a significant expansion of motorcycle production in Brazil today. The company officially started operation of the new BMW Group plant in Manaus, Brazil, the first 100% BMW Group-owned motorcycle production site outside Germany. A total of around 10.5 million euros ($11.44 million) were invested in the new plant.

Honda overhauls legendary CBR1000RP SP for 2017

(October 4, 2016) TORRANCE, Calif. — American Honda announced today that the legendary CBR1000RR SP has undergone a major overhaul for the 2017 model year, with a 33-pound weight reduction and 10 horsepower increase resulting in a 14% improvement in power-to-weight ratio.

First introduced overseas in 1992 (and in the U.S. shortly thereafter), Honda's largest CBR has continuously reset expectations of what an open-class sport bike should be, with a holistic "Total Control" design approach that focuses on cornering, acceleration and braking.

BMW Motorrad launches airbag riding jacket for upper body protection

(September 28, 2016) MUNICH —  BMW Motorrad is launching the BMW Motorrad Street Air by Alpinestars, an advanced airbag system offering comprehensive upper body protection and the freedom to ride a motorbike in both on- and offroad situations.

The technology is adopted from the current Alpinestars Tech-Air street airbag system — a system requiring no motorbike-mounted sensors.

Honda launches global communications site for selected motorcycle models

(September 21, 2016) Honda announced today the launching of "Honda Moto 2017," a global communications website to promote selected 2017 motorcycle models slated for future release. The new website will introduce each of the selected models in a short-film drama format, depicting a unique lifestyle through the interaction of riders and their bikes, thereby promoting the motorcycle lifestyle and the Honda brand.
