(September 23, 2019) INDIANAPOLIS — I doubt the cornfields in Jefferson County, Ind., have ever heard the high wail of a Ferrari V8.  My daughter and I are clipping corners and leveling hills as we blitz to Clifty Falls State Park in the Maserati Levante Trofeo.  I barely slow down as we pass a Methodist Church, in which worshippers surely think I’m bringing The Second Coming when I press the “Corsa” button and exhaust cracks in thunderous rapture.  The big crossover surges forward.

INEOS Automotive to build new SUV — the Grenadier — in Wales

(September 20, 2019) INEOS Automotive has announced that its utilitarian 4x4 will be named Grenadier after the pub in which it was conceived, with over 6,000 international fans and followers responding to an online poll to choose the vehicle’s name.

INEOS also confirmed that the Grenadier will be built in a new manufacturing facility on a greenfield site in Bridgend, South Wales. This will create 200 jobs initially, and up to 500 in the long term.  Site development is now under way to support planned start of production in 2021.

Reviving auto shop classes for the EV era — One old VW at a time

(September 20, 2019) A high school teacher revitalized his auto shop class in West New York, N.J., by introducing an electric vehicle conversion course. When Ron Grosinger began teaching shop class in 2005 at Memorial High School the program was struggling to survive. In a school facing many challenges, the elective course had dwindled from six teachers to two and rarely offered any hands-on learning, Grosinger says.

Honda CR-V gets hybrid version for 2020, styling updates

(September 19, 2019) The Honda CR-V gets a major boost with the introduction of the 2020 model, sporting freshened styling, new features and upgraded powertrains — including a new CR-V Hybrid to be built in the company's Greensburg, Ind., plant. The 2020 CR-V Hybrid is the first electrified SUV from the Honda brand in America, joining the Accord Hybrid and Insight as the third electrified Honda manufactured in the U.S. as the company moves to apply its advanced two-motor hybrid-electric system to all of its core U.S. models in the years ahead.

This Dodge B Series pickup truck was found enduring a snowstorm in Nevada. The B Series was built from 1948 through 1953. This truck was from the 1951-1953 design and contained the Job Rated moniker. The 1953 truck could be purchased for the first time with an optional fully automatic Truck-O-Matic transmission.
