Honda recalling 2002-2004 CR-Vs, 2003 Pilots over headlight wiring

(March 30, 2012) TORRANCE, Calif. — Honda will voluntarily recall approximately 554,000 model-year 2002-2004 CR-V and model-year 2003 Pilot vehicles in the United States to inspect and replace components of the headlight wiring system.

Nissan plans to charge up cities across Europe

(March 30, 2012) ROLLE, Switzerland — Cities all over Europe will be invited to embrace electric driving and encourage their communities to support Nissan's campaign — The Big Turn On — in a bid to win 30 quick chargers from Nissan.

The quick chargers are part of a wider initiative from Nissan to get one million consumers switched onto electric driving, in just 100 days. The basis of The Big Turn On campaign is to engage the public and support their cities' bid to win a new electric driving infrastructure from Nissan.

Ford Taurus SHO to make appearance in movie 'Think Like a Man'

(March 30, 2012) DEARBORN, Mich. — The new 2013 Ford Taurus SHO will hit movie screens across the country as part of its integration into Screen Gems’ highly anticipated film “Think Like a Man,” based on Steve Harvey’s best-selling book, which opens in theaters April 20.

The new 2013 Taurus, arriving in dealers now, will be part of a scene that features Meagan Good’s character Mya and Romany Malco’s character Zeke as they get ready to head out for an evening on the town.

Ford debuts 350-horsepower 2013 Explorer Sport

The Sport is a new addition to the Explorer family and is its first-ever performance version. Unlike the previous generation’s Explorer Sport that was a trim level fairly near the bottom the 2013 Sport is the top-of-the-line in the current version.

Honda begins construction on plant in Mexico to build Fit

(March 29, 2012) CELAYA, Mexico — Honda has started construction on a new manufacturing plant here that will built the sub-compact Honda Fit for the North American market when it begins operation in 2014.

The new Honda de Mexico plant is expected to employ approximately 3,200 associates at its full annual capacity of 200,000 units.

Cadillac XTS safety seat alerts drivers to dangers

(March 28, 2012) DETROIT — When the all-new Cadillac XTS luxury sedan begins production this spring, it will be the industry’s first car to use directional tactile sensation — vibrations of the driver’s seat bottom — to warn of crash threats while driving and parking.

The patented Cadillac Safety Alert Seat generates vibrating pulse patterns on the left and/or right side of the lower bolster to alert the driver of potential dangers, such as drifting from a traffic lane or toward nearby objects while parking. Threats from the front and rear trigger pulses on both sides of the seat.
